A global industrial manufacturer upgraded its Ohio manufacturing and distribution operation as part of a strategic modernization project with two goals: improve material flow into final assembly and transform the facility into an engaging showpiece of material handling automation. The challenge was updating an aging operation to support future demand, reduce manual labor and demonstrate advanced automation in a live production environment.

The manufacturer partnered with FORTNA to redesign its kitting operation. After analyzing business requirements and volume data, a goods-to-person fulfillment solution powered by Hai Robotics was identified as the best-fit enabling technology. At the center is the HaiPick System 3, which combines multiple robots to deliver high-density storage and automated retrieval in a single, integrated workflow.
