For starters, Fortna realizes that getting the value from a transformational change project means taking a broader approach than the traditional implementation and integration effort. Our team has deep distribution operations experience at all levels, and draws on cross-industry, global best practices to create the right plan for strengthening readiness. We provide resources and expertise to improve the leadership capability of your team to guide the transformation to a successful outcome.
Finally, Fortna is a true business partner to our Clients. We deliver distribution operations that provide the performance and business value you expect. And our work is not complete until you see the business case fulfilled. Fortna is the only provider in the marketplace that offers this comprehensive people readiness service capability and is willing to stand behind the performance to the business case.
Some recent client examples include:
A leading specialty retailer was struggling to support new stores and a growing eCommerce business. They needed to build a new DC to replace an outdated operation. The new operation was more advanced than the operation it replaced, and the organization included a mix of new and existing leadership. In order to meet the business case, a readiness strengthening program was implemented that prepared the organization to manage the operation using new processes and tools. This included defining the best approach on how and where to strengthen tools and readiness based on what was changing and the risks associated with those changes. As a result the project went live successfully and sustained the high performance. The new operation reduced cost-per-unit 36% and gained a 25% increase in storage density.
A leading beauty products retailer’s distribution network was struggling to meet very rapid growth in their business. Service was poor because outdated systems and processes meant that store replenishment and eCommerce cycle times were too long. They needed to update existing facilities, add new facilities and implement new systems. Their leadership was largely new due to their rapid growth. Fortna designed and built 2 new DCs and updated an existing DC. The program also included implementation of new WMS systems. The rapid growth of the company dictated that the transformed distribution network must roll out successfully. Fortna integrated a program of readiness strengthening into the overall design and delivery of the new facilities and operations. As a result, the new facilities went live successfully and the company doubled fulfillment capacity. Productivity and store delivery replenishment were also greatly improved.
“Fortna didn’t take a typical consultant approach by presenting a plan and then walking away. They put skin in the game and worked side by side with our staff training them up.”
