H.E. Fortna & Bro., Inc. opens in Reading, PA selling army surplus pallet jacks out of a small one-room office.
H.E. Fortna & Bro., Inc. begins adding forklift trucks and conveyors to its product line.
Fortna is purchased by Peter Counihan, currently Fortna’s Chairman. He moves the company away from forklifts to focus on conveying equipment and installation.
Fortna continues to evolve to meet customer needs by becoming a full-service integrator of complete materials handling systems. Recognizing an industry need for reliable, flexible and scalable Warehouse Control Software, Fortna unveils FortnaPlus™.
1997 - 2005
Fortna’s engineers develop FortnaDCmodeler™, a powerful data analysis tool to more rapidly process millions of lines of data, strengthening Fortna’s design capabilities. The company continues to grow by adding consulting services and opening offices in Nashville, TN, Cleveland, OH and Atlanta, GA.
2006 - 2011
Fortna significantly expands its services by merging with longtime partner, Q4 Logistics. The company grows globally by adding Latin American offices in Colombia plus acquires South-African based LGA Logistics Consultants and establishes a base of operations for the EMEA region.
2012 - 2014
Fortna continues to invest in tools that drive innovation and justifiable solutions for its clients including FortnaDCmodeler® Version 3.0. This sophisticated tool quickly analyzes years of item, order, receipt, shipment and inventory data to provide a foundation for projecting clients’ future business requirements and growth. Fortna expands investment in Research & Development to drive efficient service delivery and WCS improvements. New offices are opened in Tampa, FL and Mexico City.
2015 - 2016
Fortna continues to innovate with the release of FortnaWCS™ version EV.10, a warehouse control system powerful enough to handle the complexities of today’s market and operation requirements. FortnaDCoptimizers™ are introduced, a set of multi-dimensional models that quickly identify the best alternative among a continuum of distribution design choices. Global expansion continues with offices opened in London, United Kingdom, Santiago, Chile and Toronto, Canada.
Fortna expands their global footprint by acquiring U.K.’s The Logistics Business as well as opening a software development hub in Hanoi, Vietnam. Additionally, the company releases FortnaWES™ warehouse execution system with new and innovative capabilities that enable greater speed and flexibility in distribution operations.
