Some recent client examples include:
An industrial distributor was growing organically and through acquisitions. Key to their growth is a brand promise that offers next day delivery on over 700,000 items. Fortna led a major retrofit of five distribution centers. The increased productivity of 60% allowed the company to double revenue without needing to build any additional facilities.
A leading apparel brand needed a new operation that could meet the growing demands of their retail, wholesale and ecommerce channels from a single facility. The new 1 million sq. ft. facility was a major transformation to how they do business. Inventory is shared across all three channels and the distribution center can process over 200 million units a year.
A retailer was was unable to keep up with the growth of the business. Throughput and capacity were critical problems, but the company could not afford a new operation. Fortna led the Client through a retrofit of their current facility that dramatically reduced order cycle time, extended the same-day shipment cutoff time by six hours, and extended the life of the DC by 5 years.
A major footwear manufacturer was struggling to keep up with explosive growth. Fortna helped design and build a new 520,000 sq. ft. distribution center that resulted in a 32% increase in productivity, a decrease in order processing time of 70%, and a decrease in overtime of 65%.
“Our new distribution centre in Caledon, Ontario will enable us to better serve our customers while increasing productivity and support our growth. In Fortna, we found a partner that took accountability for the successful implementation of the entire project. They challenged our way of thinking about distribution and will help us be successful now and into the future.”
