Two Fortna Clients Selected as 2016 DC Velocity Rainmakers

Two of Fortna’s clients have been selected by DC Velocity for their 2016 Rainmakers list, as individuals who “have a common goal of advancing the logistics and supply chain management profession.” This year, nine supply chain professionals were selected and are highlighted in the July issue.

Mike Fernstrom is recognized for his work managing both distribution and logistics operations during his tenure at Petco. Mike is also recognized as the principle architect of the “picking sled,” which is a horizontal picking cart that Petco uses, allowing pickers to cluster pick up to six stores at once, improving productivity by over 18%.

John Salt is recognized for being instrumental in upgrading the logistics and transportation functions at Canadian Tire, and for deploying upgraded technology within the distribution centers to improve quality and productivity. His current focus is developing an online fulfillment network to support growth in the e-commerce channel.

Fortna is proud that our clients’ accomplishments have been recognized by DC Velocity.  Congratulations to Mike and John, and all the DC Velocity Rainmakers.
