A $5 billion supermarket chain was struggling with aggressive growth. They needed to manage their growing number of SKUs, optimize their temperature-controlled environment, increase productivity, and reduce fulfillment costs. Fortna helped them optimize their distribution center, including adding a multi-story pick module to create additional space and reduce travel time between picks. The results included a 70% increase in throughput, 15% decrease in labor costs and the addition of store-ready deliveries that resulted in faster restocking and fewer stock-outs in the stores, improving store productivity.
A $380 million manufacturer and distributor of food, beverage and consumer goods that operates in over 30 cities across the globe was experiencing rapid growth that was causing congestion and inefficiencies in their production and distribution facilities. They were struggling to track raw materials and finished goods across multiple buildings. Service levels were suffering, and logistics costs were rising. Fortna helped design and implement both a new raw materials facility and a finished goods distribution center. Both facilities were built for efficiency and with increased clear height to reduce land costs.
