From Humble Beginnings in 1946

Fortna has steadily grown into a nationally-known and respected provider of complete supply chain solutions.  
 
Key Events:

1946   H. E. Fortna Brothers Inc. opens in Reading, PA selling handtrucks and parts out of a small one-room office.

1954   H. E. Fortna Brothers Inc. begins adding forklift trucks and conveyors from multiple manufacturers to its product line.

1989   Company purchased by Peter Counihan and new era of Fortna Inc. begins, focusing more on conveying equipment and installation and away from forklift sales.

1992   Fortna begins integrating complete materials handling systems and quickly becomes a reputable full-service integrator.

1995   Recognizing an industry need for reliable, flexible and scalable Warehouse Control Software, Fortna unveils FortnaPlus™.

1997   Fortna opens second office in Nashville, TN to focus on increasing sales and customer service for the Southeastern and Central United States.
   
1998   Fortna opens third office in Mesa, AZ to expand sales presence and customer support in the Western United States.
   
2000   Fortna strengthens its design engineering team and begins hiring the industry’s best consultants experienced in distribution design and software implementation. Fortna also opens its fourth office in Cleveland, OH.

2002   Fortna’s engineers develop FortnaDCmodeler™, a powerful data analysis tool, to more rapidly process millions of lines of data and ultimately strengthening Fortna’s design capabilities.
   
2004   Fortna opens its fifth office in Atlanta, GA to strengthen sales and customer support in the Southeast United States.
   
2006   Fortna experiences tremendous growth by expanding its supply chain consulting group and by merging with longtime partner, Q4 Logistics.  Fortna maintains Q4's Orange, CA office as a sixth office serving the US. 
 

2007   Fortna celebrates the one year anniversary of the merger with Q4 and the expansion of the supply chain consulting group.  Fortna clients continue to benefit from our fully integrated offerings and dedication to meeting their business goals.

2008   Fortna opens a Toronto office to better serve our Canadian clients.
